Continuing its trend of regular updates, X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, has unveiled a new offering to enhance user experience. To kick off the new year, X has introduced a basic subscription tier tailored for verified organizations, now accessible at $200 per month or $2,000 per year. This Basic tier grants verified entities a coveted gold check-mark badge and additional perks, significantly reducing the cost from the previous $1,000 per month for full access.
Catering to Small Businesses
With a focus on supporting small businesses, X’s latest tier includes benefits such as ad credits and priority support to amplify visibility. Sources suggest that this move aims to attract smaller enterprises that may have been deterred by the higher price point of the premium plan.
Headlines Return to URL Cards
After a hiatus from displaying headlines on URLs, X has reintroduced them in select ways across the platform. Recent reports reveal that headlines and website titles now accompany images linked to respective pages, a feature that was absent since last year. Musk highlighted this change as an enhancement to the overall appearance of posts. In a previous announcement, X mentioned the forthcoming reappearance of headlines on URL cards, confirming that the platform’s URL will overlay the title atop the card image in an upcoming release.
Audio-Video Calling Feature Unveiled
Marking a significant milestone, X has initiated the rollout of its long-awaited Audio and Video Calling feature. Users can now place calls within X, reminiscent of functionalities seen on WhatsApp and Instagram. Initially available exclusively for iPhone users, the feature is slated to gradually extend to Android users. Notably, this functionality is reserved for Premium users, meaning only those with the coveted Blue Tick verification badge can leverage audio-video calls. The mechanics of these calls mirror those of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, offering a familiar experience to users.
