Mumbai/Leh | 19 August 2026: At 46, Vinod Yadav, a Virar resident originally from Jharkhand and an HCL professional, has once again shown that passion has no age and dreams have no deadline.
From 8 to 14 August 2026, Vinod successfully completed the challenging Manali-to-Leh Cycling Expedition, riding through some of the toughest and most breathtaking terrain in the Himalayas.
A passionate cyclist, football player, marathon runner and adventure enthusiast, Vinod had already completed the Manali-to-Leh expedition in 2022 and the Mumbai–Goa Cycling Expedition in December 2025. Despite his demanding corporate career, he continues to make time for the adventures that inspire him.
Behind His Journey, Stands Geeta
For Vinod, however, this achievement belongs to more than just him.
He openly credits his wife, Geeta Yadav, for much of what he has achieved. “Whatever I am today is because of my wife, Geeta,” is a sentiment he often shares.
Behind every training session, marathon, cycling expedition and early morning ride has been Geeta’s encouragement, patience and support. As Vinod battled the difficult Himalayan roads, he carried with him not only determination, but also the strength of the family standing behind him.
His journey to Leh was therefore a shared achievement—with Geeta, his family and everyone who believed in him.
Cycling With a Purpose
This expedition carried an even deeper meaning. Before the journey, the team received Rakhis, heartfelt letters and gifts from schoolchildren for Indian Army soldiers.
The cyclists carried these emotional messages through the Himalayan route and, after reaching Leh, personally handed them over to Indian Army personnel.
For the children, it was a simple way of saying thank you. For the cyclists, it became one of the most memorable moments of the expedition.
The journey had transformed from a sporting challenge into a bridge between schoolchildren and the soldiers serving the nation.
A Team United by Purpose
Vinod completed the expedition alongside Govind, Dr. Ankit Jaiswal, Takshil Thakkar, Arjun Dhuri and Aparna Khanore, with support from Ichanshu Bajpai and Avinash Bhatia.
The expedition was organised by Commando Training School, sponsored by Home Consultancy, Silver Line Phase 1, with Manish Jha serving as the organiser.
A Proud Moment in Leh
After successfully completing the expedition, Vinod Yadav, 46, was felicitated by the Indian Army in Leh.
The honour made the journey even more special—not simply because of the achievement, but because the expedition had been undertaken with a message of gratitude, respect and patriotism.
From Jharkhand to Mumbai, Virar to Leh, Vinod’s story is a reminder that a busy career need not end one’s dreams.
At 46, he continues to ride, run and explore—and his journey carries a simple but powerful message:
Dreams have no age. Passion has no limits. And behind every successful journey, there is often someone quietly standing beside you, believing in you.
For Vinod Yadav, that person is Geeta Yadav.
