Chandni Chowk, the melting pot of flavors for centuries, is set to witness a flavorful celebration like never before. Omaxe Chowk, Chandni Chowk, is all set to host ‘Daawat-E-Challenge’, a two-day food eating competition at its iconic Dawatpur Food Court on June 28 and 29, 2025. The event will bring together food enthusiasts from across Delhi-NCR to compete in an exciting gastronomic competition featuring some of the city’s most loved street delicacies.

Aimed at rekindling the flavours of Old Delhi’s culinary past, Daawat-e-Challenge is a tribute to the legendary street food that made Chandni Chowk the food capital of India. With over 100 teams participating, the event promises intense competition and spirited fun, wrapped in layers of spice, flavour, and nostalgia.

On Day 1, participants will first compete in Round 1, where 20–25 teams will attempt to finish Golgappe, Dahi Bhalla, and Tikki within 1–2 minutes. The top-performing teams will then qualify for Round 2, which will challenge them to devour a combination of Paranthas, Kachori, and Matar Kulcha in 3–4 minutes. The Grand Finale on Day 2 will see the finalists take on the Grand Thali Challenge, where the ultimate test of speed and appetite will be judged over a 5–7 minute time frame.

Winners of the competition will be rewarded with exciting cash prizes and food vouchers, with the first prize set at ₹50,000, followed by ₹30,000 for the second place, and ₹20,000 for the third place.

Jatin Goel, Executive Director, Omaxe Group, said, “Omaxe Chowk has always aimed to revive and celebrate the timeless charm of Old Delhi’s culinary traditions. Through Daawat-E-Challenge, we are creating an interactive platform that brings the community together in a fun and culturally rooted way. We are excited to welcome participants and spectators to what promises to be a spirited and flavourful event.”

The event will feature participation from prominent food brands at Omaxe Chowk, including Jung Bahadur Kachori, Kuremal’s Kulfi, Chaat Town, Gaya Prasad – Paranthe Wali Gali, Amritsari Express, Ghoomar, and Cafe Chennai, offering a unique blend of flavours rooted in Delhi’s culinary heritage.

The competition, open to teams of two, carries an entry fee of ₹199 per team. The competition will take place in multiple rounds, culminating in a grand finale.
