Wagish Sharma, a software engineer and social activist, is currently leading a petition to prevent the felling of 110,000 trees in Uttar Pradesh. These trees are at risk due to the Kanwar Route Project, a development plan that has sparked environmental concerns. Through his social media channels, Sharma is actively raising awareness about the issue, and his petition has already gathered over 80 signatures.
In addition to his environmental advocacy, Sharma has made significant contributions to his local community in Ghaziabad. He has planted over 500 trees in the area, highlighting his commitment to ecological sustainability.
Sharma is also involved in various social initiatives. He organizes educational programs for underprivileged children, distributing essential school supplies like books, notebooks, and pencils. Furthermore, he regularly conducts health camps to provide basic medical care to those in need.
Sharma’s dedication to cultural and spiritual enrichment is evident in his distribution of the Bhagavad Gita and Hanuman Chalisa, with a goal of disseminating 51,000 copies. He also helped establish a shikanji (lemonade) store for an elderly man near Sadarpur Gate and has supported the creation of numerous small businesses, empowering individuals toward economic independence.
Wagish Sharma’s diverse efforts in social activism and environmental conservation continue to positively impact the community, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development and societal betterment.
