UNTIL OUR VOICES MEET: Silchar Author Biswatosh Sinha Explores Love, Loneliness and Digital Connections

From Silchar, Assam, to readers across India and beyond, Biswatosh Sinha’s debut novel explores how two strangers find love and emotional companionship through conversations.

Can two strangers fall in love without ever meeting? Can conversations create a connection strong enough to overcome distance, loneliness and uncertainty? These are some of the questions explored in UNTIL OUR VOICES MEET, the debut novel by Biswatosh Sinha, an author, screenwriter and content creator from Silchar, Assam.

Published by Write India Publishers on 19 November 2025, the novel is a contemporary romance set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. Available on Amazon, the book takes readers into the emotional world of two individuals whose unexpected online interaction gradually develops into a meaningful relationship.

The story revolves around Ved and April, two strangers who connect through Instagram during the lockdown. What begins as a casual digital interaction slowly transforms into a deeper emotional bond through messages, late-night conversations and shared experiences.

Ved Vikram Sinha is a chef originally from Silchar, Assam, now living in Bengaluru. He is dealing with loneliness, family expectations and uncertainties about his personal life. April, whose real name is Anasuya Mukherjee, comes from Kolkata. Independent, practical and outspoken, she brings a different perspective to their growing relationship.

Despite their contrasting personalities and backgrounds, the two find comfort in each other’s words. As their conversations become increasingly personal, they begin navigating the complicated boundaries between friendship, emotional attachment and romantic love.

What makes UNTIL OUR VOICES MEET distinctive is its conversation-driven storytelling. Rather than relying on conventional romantic encounters, the novel builds its emotional narrative through digital communication. It reflects a generation that increasingly experiences relationships through screens, where words can sometimes reveal more than physical presence.

The book also explores themes beyond romance, including mental health, cultural identity, family expectations, loneliness, personal freedom and the complexities of modern relationships. Through its characters, it examines how people negotiate their individual choices while navigating social and cultural expectations.

For Biswatosh Sinha, the novel represents an important milestone in his creative journey. Coming from Silchar, a town in Assam, his entry into English fiction adds another voice from Northeast India to the contemporary Indian literary landscape. With a background in screenwriting and content creation, he brings a storytelling approach that places conversations and emotional exchanges at the centre of the narrative.

Interestingly, the novel does not conclude with the conventional physical meeting between its protagonists. Their journey remains incomplete, leaving readers anticipating what happens next. Sinha is working on the sequel, which will continue Ved and April’s story.

With UNTIL OUR VOICES MEET, Biswatosh Sinha offers a contemporary reflection on love in an increasingly connected yet emotionally complicated world. His story reminds readers that sometimes, the strongest relationships begin with nothing more than two people willing to listen to each other.
