Student Tribe Empowers Young Minds with AI Workforce Edition

  • Over 1,000 students attend ‘Tribe Meetup: AI Workforce Edition’ at T-Works

Hyderabad, April 2026: On the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti, more than 1,000 students gathered at T-Works , Raidurg, Hyderabad for the “Tribe Meetup: AI Workforce Edition,” a flagship programme hosted by Student Tribe, one of India’s largest Gen Z student communities with over 8 lakh members. The initiative is led by Founder and CEO Sri Charan Lakkaraju.

As part of the event, 663 students who successfully completed AI data annotation projects will receive their payouts in person, along with certificates and verified work experience. Each participant earned between ₹3,500 and ₹5,000 based on their contribution.

Speaking to the media, Lakkaraju said the initiative reflects Student Tribe’s growing track record in enabling student earnings. “This is not simulated training. This is real work with real income,” he stated.

Hosted at T-Works — India’s largest prototyping centre and an initiative of the Government of Telangana — the gathering highlights a shift in how students engage with career opportunities. Instead of waiting for jobs after graduation, students are now contributing to real-world AI projects, earning while studying, and building practical experience before entering the workforce.

The meetup also marked the official launch of the Student Tribe App, a unified platform designed to support students across three key areas: operations, by providing access to jobs, internships, and curated opportunities; networking, through events, communities, and meaningful connections; and earnings, by enabling gig work and paid projects alongside academic pursuits.
