Sheena Chohan to Play the Antagonist in Pankaj Parashar’s Next Secret Agent OTT Show

MUMBAI — Pan-Indian actress Sheena Chohan has marked a major career milestone, officially signing on as the negative lead in an upcoming espionage OTT series directed by acclaimed filmmaker Pankaj Parashar. The highly anticipated series, set in the gritty world of secret agents, is scheduled to begin filming this September.

Parashar is a legendary figure in Indian cinema and television, known for creating iconic female characters. He directed Sridevi to her first Filmfare Award in ChaalBaaz, launched Akshaye Khanna in Himalayputra, and created the beloved Indian television detective classic Karamchand. Having previously directed leading ladies like Madhuri Dixit, Sushmita Sen, and Urmila Matondkar, his choice of Chohan for this complex antagonist role has generated significant industry buzz.

A Match of Dedication and Action

Speaking on his decision to cast Chohan, Parashar praised her unique skill set and unwavering commitment to the craft.

“I am happy to choose Sheena as the negative lead for my next OTT series because she has the exact credentials needed for the character, especially with her training in martial arts. She’s also super enthusiastic and committed as an actress. I really like her dedication to her craft,” Parashar stated.

The collaboration sparked when the two met at the Mumbai International Film Festival. For Chohan, the announcement arriving near her birthday made the news particularly special.

“I’ve always admired Pankaj Sir and the incredible, legendary female characters he has created over the years,” Chohan shared. “When he shared this project with me, I immediately discussed my research process, how I approach understanding characters from the inside out, and my ideas for bringing this fascinating negative lead to life.”

She added that her background in theater, martial arts, and fitness will be pivotal in shaping the layered, powerful character. “There’s nothing I love more than bringing characters and stories to life. I put my heart and soul into every role with the hope of inspiring and uplifting people.”

A Packed Slate for Chohan

This new espionage series adds to Chohan’s rapidly expanding, multi-lingual portfolio. She is set to appear in cinemas across India as a cop in the action-packed South film Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam, alongside J. D. Chakravarthy. Her Hindi film debut in Sant Tukaram opposite Subodh Bhave recently earned her praise for a nuanced and emotionally compelling performance.

Chohan’s digital footprint is equally robust, with past roles in Netflix’s The Fame Game alongside Madhuri Dixit and The Trial with Kajol. She is also slated to star as a “she-devil” in an upcoming international web series, contributing to a busy lineup of five releases this year alone.

Before stepping onto the set of Parashar’s new series this September, Chohan will travel to New York to speak at the United Nations—capping off her birthday month with both global advocacy and a major cinematic announcement.
