Megh Roy Choudhury stands out as one of India’s celebrated and award-winning wildlife photographers. As the Director of WildSojourn Admodum, Megh is deeply invested in wildlife, further manifesting her expertise as the Editor-in-chief of “WILDSOJOURNS,” one of India’s eminent online wildlife magazines. Not only is she a ZEISS Influencer, but she has also been steadfast in her philanthropic efforts which resulted in the formation of  “Chinu Datta Gupta Memorial Foundation” where she serves as the Chief Trustee. Her philanthropic activities along with her forages in photography have cemented her position as one of the most influential women in her realm.

Her initial professional background was rooted in academia, but her fervent zeal for wildlife photography and charitable giving compelled her to depart from her governmental role, opting to invest her energies fully in the service of humanity and the environment. In summing up her life’s creed, she asserts, “Saving Lives and Conserving Nature,” words that ring with the fervor of her convictions.

 

Renowned for her adventurous spirit, Megh has been a fearless explorer, the spirited wanderer and trailblazer since her youth. She travels mostly solo traversing the globe’s remote corners to seize the ephemeral beauty of untamed life within her frame. Her company WildSojourns Admodum LLP stands as a vanguard, championing the coexistence of humans with the natural world. According to Megh, she entered the realm of wildlife photography as one of its pioneering women, forging a path replete with unprecedented challenges, including adversaries eager to hinder her progress. Born into a distinguished family known for its administrative legacy, she was instilled with a resolute spirit and bravery since her youth days . Influential figures such as her grandmother and her father, Sri Asoke RC, imparted to her the lesson of perseverance in the face of daunting difficulties. Alongside her supportive partner, Dr. Prasanna AV, a neurosurgeon, she receives continuous encouragement to wholeheartedly devote herself to her twin passions of photography and philanthropy.

 

Her contributions to wildlife photography have garnered significant recognition and admiration among her colleagues. A number of her exceptional pieces have been showcased in esteemed national and international publications, exhibitions and have been the highlight of numerous conferences, workshops, and webinars focused on wildlife photography and conservation. Moreover, her expertise has been sought after as a panellist in various high-profile photography contests.
