Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) is an apex body representing the interests of Amusement Parks, Theme Parks, and Indoor Amusement Centres in India. IAAPI is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, industry-led, and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in the development of the amusement and recreation sector in India.
The prospects are looking quite eventful for the association as the amusement industry is exploding with rising demand, particularly post-Covid. With a rise in innovative and immersive concepts and with ever-increasing acceptability in customers, Amusement is undoubtedly one industry that has no other digital alternative as F&B, cinema, or fashion retail, therefore, customers are bound to visit in numbers like never before. With the new appointments, IAAPI is uplifting its approach which overlaps with its zeal for ensuring state-of-the-art offerings and making room for unprecedented developments by eliminating what’s outmoded.
Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) has recently announced two appointments to the board, Shrikant Goenka – Chairman, and Ankur Maheshwari – Vice Chairman. As a Chairman, Mr. Shrikant Goenka has been actively involved with various initiatives and committees of the association. He chaired the Manufacturers and Export Promotion (MEP), Indoor Amusement Centre (IAC) committee. He is also the Director of Premierworld Technology, which is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters in India, of musical and architectural fountains with multimedia shows, creative lighting, 5D virtual reality shows, and adventure mazes.
Mr. Ankur Maheshwari, the newly appointed Vice Chairman of IAAPI, is the Founder and Director of Modern Group of Companies. In 2010 after joining an existing family business he diversified into the field of mechatronics technology, which had the family venturing into the manufacturing of simulation-based amusement products. The company owns the retail brand Masti Zone which has a pan-India presence.
Founded in 1999, IAAPI is India’s premier business association having 461 members from the private sector including small and medium enterprises, which mainly consist of park operators and equipment manufacturers. Globally renowned, IAAPI is also affiliated with various international trade bodies operating in the Amusement sector. Extending its agenda beyond business, IAAPI has been making conscious efforts to concretize the entire industry under one umbrella with a focus on promoting tourism, employment generation, safety, and national integration, it has also enabled potential investors to invest in this sunrise industry.
