Rabi Crops: Rabi crops are likely to get spoiled due to the indifference of the weather. The effect of snowfall in the hilly areas was seen on the plains. It rained in many states including Bihar, and UP. There has been information about damage to Rabi crops due to rain. If the crops of the farmers are affected due to natural calamity and other reasons or if the production is affected, then compensation will be given in the form of help from the government. For this, the Government of Bihar has released the Bihar State Crop Assistance Scheme Rabi 2022-23. To take advantage of this scheme of government, it is necessary for the farmers to register the crop.
How much compensation will be received if the crop is damaged
According to the Bihar State Agriculture Department, if your crop is damaged up to 20%, then under the Bihar State Crop Assistance Scheme, you will get Rs 7500 per hectare and if there is more than 20% damage, you will be given Rs 10,000 per hectare. Farmers will be paid assistance amounts through DBT in Aadhaar linked bank account.
Salient Features of the Scheme
In applying online for Bihar State Crop Assistance Scheme Rabi 2023, farmers can take help from the department’s call center and local officials. It is for both ryot and non-ryot and partly for both ryot and non-ryot categories of farmers. All major crops of the rabi season – wheat, rabi corn, lentil, pigeon pea, gram, sugarcane, mustard, potato, and onion are covered. The application process is free. ₹ 7,500 per hectare (up to 20% damage). ₹ 10,000 per hectare (more than 20% damage)

The process of application has started from 1 January 2023 and can be applied till 31 March 2023. At the time of application, farmers only have to give information about crop and sowing areas.
Process of payment of assistance amount
After the selection of eligible Gram Panchayats on the basis of crop-cutting experiment-based yield rate data, applicant farmers of those selected Gram Panchayats will need to upload some documents.
