‘Chennai Singams’ Families Cheer with Pride: Heartfelt Support Lights Up ISPL Season 2

Mumbai: The Chennai Singams had a special moment as their families came to support and bless them during the ongoing ISPL season 2. For these players, cricket has been a lifelong passion, and their families have been their biggest strength through every challenge and triumph. From childhood dreams to sacrifices made along the way, their loved ones shared heartfelt words of pride and encouragement, celebrating their journey on this grand stage.

Captain Sumeet Dhekale’s wife said: “Watching him hit those sixes and fours, and lead his team fills us with pride. His focus and dedication are unmatched”.

“He balances family and cricket so well. Even with his important matches, he still made time for our family outing. He always puts others—his team and family—before himself.” – his sister added.

Mohammad Zeeshan’s parents shared: “From breaking utensils at home to breaking barriers on the field—his journey has been full of struggles and hard work. We are proud and pray for his continued success.”

Vedant Mayekar’s father affirmed: “It was my dream to play cricket, and now he’s living that dream for me. Once, he had an important school match, but three days before, he fell seriously ill. Every morning, he went to the hospital for glucose drips and then straight to practice. The day before the match, he took his exam at 6 PM, caught a 7:30 PM train to UP, and still returned as the ‘Man of the Match”.

Anurag Sarshar’s mother expressed: “Cricket has been his first love since childhood. No hunger, no thirst—just cricket, all day, all evening. If God has brought him here, I pray He takes him even further.”

R Thavith’s wife expressed: “I’m extremely happy that he has been selected for ISPL. We have two children, and they are overjoyed to see their father playing as a cricketer in the stadium. Last season, he won his first ‘Man of the Match’ award in the presence of Sachin Tendulkar, which was a proud and unforgettable moment for us”.

Rahul Sawant’s wife said: “He is always calm, even in high-pressure matches. Our daughter was his lucky charm when he got his first tournament – MPL, and now our second child has brought ISPL into our lives. We hope Chennai Singams lifts the trophy!”.

Prashant Gharat’s mother poured her heart out: “Cricket has been his passion since childhood, spending entire days practicing around the sea. After losing his father in 10th grade, we have always supported his cricketing career, and we hope to see him play for India one day”.

Rajdip Gupta, Co-owner, Chennai Singams said: “Our players are our greatest assets, and we are delighted to welcome their families to witness them in action. We firmly believe that family support plays a crucial role in a player’s growth, and this gesture is our way of expressing gratitude to the families whose unwavering encouragement has helped shape these athletes into sporting icons today”.
