It will be mandatory for all private satellite TV channel broadcasters in the country to broadcast public service for 30 minutes from March 1. This information has been released by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting itself. He has issued a such advisory to all telecast channels in the national interest.
Apart from this, all have been told that the channels cannot telecast content during non-peak hours. It is necessary for the government directive that the material run in the public interest will not be telecast between night to 6 in the morning.
What will be the theme of Public Service Broadcasting?
Under this, the material related to education will be broadcast. Along with this, material related to the development of agriculture and rural areas will be broadcast. Apart from this, things related to health and family welfare will be given.

Content related to science and technology will be shown on TV. Apart from this, issues related to the rights of women, weak and exploited sections of society, the environment, and cultural sites, and issues related to the national interest will be shown on TV. Apart from this, things related to water conservation, and disaster management will be shown during this period.
What else did the ministry say?
According to the government, this type of public service broadcasting program will have to broadcast for 15 hours every month. It is not necessary that this program is of 30 minutes, small time slots can also be kept to show 15 hours every month. No commercial break will be aired during this time. Apart from this, broadcasters can submit their monthly reports to the Broadcast Services Portal. This has to be submitted before the 7th of every month.
Which channels are excluded?
This decision does not apply to foreign channels. They are exempted from showing programs related to the public interest. Apart from this, channels showing the content of sports, devotionals, and yoga will not have to submit such reports on the Broadcast Services Portal.
