A wunderkind entrepreneur with two decades of expertise in the Tourism and Hospitality arena is striving to create job prospects for the young, educated masses, not just in Jammu and Kashmir but across the nation.
Muhammad Suhail Dar, who at the ripe age of 32, bid farewell to his five-figure salary job and ventured into his own business, Kashmir Travel Advisor, is now offering franchises to ambitious, unemployed youth looking to make a name in the industry. Suhail took a leap of faith and left his job at the peak of his career, where he held a position that many in the industry dream of.
Suhail’s journey in the hospitality industry started with a front-office executive position at the world-renowned Taj West End in Bangalore before he took up a two-year contract as an assistant lecturer at the Institute of Hotel Management in Srinagar. He went on to serve as the Reservations Manager at Vivanta by Taj in Srinagar for two years, and later as General Manager at City Forest (Sarovar Hotel Sonwar). Prior to starting his own venture, Suhail was the Group General Manager at Hotel Pine Springs.
In just a few short years, Suhail’s company has carved a niche for itself, serving some of India’s top corporate houses. During the year 2022, from March to December, Kashmir Travel Advisor had the privilege of serving high-profile guests, including top executives from Titan/TATA, leaders in the Indian rice industry, and Shammi Bansal, MD of Liberty Group.

Suhail shared with the reporter his idea of distributing franchises of his company to the unemployed youth, saying, “It’s time to give back to society, which has given me so much love, recognition, and success.” The Kashmir Travel Advisor has come up with a franchise offer for the unemployed youth of India, particularly in J&K. Suhail explained that the Global Tourism Industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and with the right guidance, much can be achieved in terms of unemployment reduction through the industry.
Kashmir Travel Advisor is offering franchise outlets in the Kashmir division in its first phase, with plans to expand across India. Suhail said, “This model will create job opportunities for the unemployed youth in the valley, and the franchise model is designed in a way that these young people don’t have to invest a hefty sum, only 1.5 lacs for setting up office infrastructure. We’ll be with them every step of the way, providing training and support throughout their journey in the Travel and Tourism Industry.”
Suhail appeals to the youth of Kashmir not to miss this golden opportunity, saying, “Interested candidates can reach out to our team, and we’ll be more than happy to provide guidance and direction for a career in the hospitality industry.” Already, a good number of enthusiastic young people have shown interest in the project.
