New Delhi | 30th April 2026 : AI-driven engineering talent platform Cognavi has facilitated international placements for 13 engineering students from premier Indian institutes, with an average compensation of ₹42.15 lakh per annum, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in global talent recruitment.
According to the company, the highest offer touched ₹56.27 lakh for a Data Scientist (Data Engineering) role, while two students from IITs secured pre-placement offers of ₹46.78 lakh in technical and product development roles.
The placements were enabled through Cognavi’ s proprietary AI-based “Skill Tree ” technology, which maps candidates ’ technical competencies directly to the requirements of international employers, reducing reliance on traditional résumé screening.
The recruited students have been placed in specialised engineering and technology roles including data science, system engineering, electrical development, application engineering, product development, and design engineering, the company said.
A majority of the candidates — 11 out of the 13 students — were from engineering colleges ranked among the top 100 in India ’ s NIRF rankings, while the remaining two were from IITs.
While the company did not disclose the names of the hiring organisations due to confidentiality agreements, it said the roles are with global companies across technology, electronics, and manufacturing sectors.
Industry experts say such AI-driven recruitment models ¯are increasingly being adopted by multinational firms seeking specialised engineering talent from India, particularly in areas such as data engineering, advanced electronics, and systems development.
“The biggest inefficiency in global hiring today is not the lack of talent—it’ s the inability to identify it correctly. Traditional recruitment filters out capability before it even gets seen. AI flips that equation. We ’ re not just improving hiring—we ’ re questioning the very logic it has operated on for decades, ” said Mohit Sareen, Board of Director, Cognavi India Limited, who leads strategy and business for the company.
“Traditional campus hiring often focuses on degrees and academic scores, whereas AI-driven skill mapping allows companies to identify candidates based on their actual technical capabilities, ” the company added.
Founded to connect engineering talent with global employers, Cognavi operates an AI-powered recruitment platform that evaluates technical skill sets and matches them with specific role requirements. The company works with IITs and other leading engineering institutions to facilitate cross-border technology recruitment.
With demand for specialised engineers rising globally, platforms using AI-based matching systems are expected to play a larger role in international hiring from India ’ s engineering ecosystem, particularly as companies increasingly prioritise skills over traditional hiring metrics.
Cognavi today has a growing presence across 300+ top engineering colleges in India, building one of the most structured pipelines for core engineering talent in the country. By focusing on disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, and emerging industrial technologies, the platform is enabling companies to access highly specialised talent beyond traditional IT hiring pools. As a pioneer in AI-led skill-based recruitment, Cognavi brings with it the legacy and expertise of its parent organisation, which has been a leader in engineering talent solutions for over 44 years— positioning the company at the forefront of transforming how India ’ s engineering talent is discovered, evaluated, and deployed globally.
