“Natural Is the Indian Way”: Akshay Kumar Questions Artificial Six-Pack Culture at India Today Conclave

Actor Advocates Traditional Fitness and Warns Against Rapid Physical Transformations

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently addressed the growing obsession with sculpted physiques in the film industry, cautioning against what he described as “unnatural” methods of achieving six-pack abs. Speaking during a session at the India Today Conclave, the actor emphasized the importance of natural fitness and sustainable health practices.

Concerns Over Unrealistic Body Standards in Cinema

During the discussion, Kumar reflected on changing fitness trends in cinema and suggested that the pressure to build a chiselled body within a short time often leads to questionable practices.

“A lot of what you see is being created,” he said. “I am not talking about VFX—some of it is, but some of it is also about putting wrong things inside your body,” he added, hinting at unhealthy methods used to achieve rapid body transformations.

Promoting a Natural Approach to Fitness

Known for his disciplined lifestyle and long-standing commitment to fitness, Kumar shared his belief that the natural path remains the most effective and sustainable way to stay healthy.

“The natural way is our Indian way of making a six-pack,” he said. “Work properly, eat properly, have ghee, live a good life, be happy—you can manage it.”

Warning Against Quick-Fix Transformations

The actor also raised concerns about rapid physical changes that have become common in the industry. According to Kumar, such transformations may not always be healthy or sustainable.

“I have seen six-packs happening in about four or five months, but that is all wrong,” he noted, suggesting that quick results often come at the cost of long-term well-being.

A Consistent Fitness Role Model

Over the years, Kumar has maintained a reputation as one of Bollywood’s most disciplined fitness advocates. Even as younger actors strive to match the muscular screen aesthetics seen in modern films, Kumar reiterated that true fitness is built on balance, patience, and a healthy lifestyle rather than extreme measures.
