7 Students from Engineers Institute of India Secure Top 10 AIR in GATE 2024 Chemical Engineering

In a recent interview showcasing accomplished GATE 2024 toppers in Chemical Engineering from Eii, Param Agrahari clinched AIR-6, while Kameshwar Chauhan achieved AIR-144. Both Param and Kameshwar had previously completed their B.Tech degrees in Chemical Engineering from MMMUT-Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur. They opted to join Eii’s online coaching program in 2021-22, following recommendations from their seniors. Currently, Param and Kameshwar is pursuing his M.Tech at IIT Roorkee, based on his last GATE score.

Param, originating from an average farmer family in Siddharth Nagar, nearly 80km from Gorakhpur, completed his schooling at Sarashwati Vidya Mandir and is currently pursuing M.Tech from IIT Roorkee. Kameshwar, from Patrauna in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh, shares a hostel room with Param at IIT Roorkee campus. Despite initial setbacks of not qualifying in GATE 2022 and achieving an average score in GATE 2023, both persevered in their preparations, leading to remarkable ranks in GATE 2024.

In the interview, Param stressed the importance of clear concepts and thorough revision, following Eii’s online coaching lectures. He highlighted the significance of grasping small concepts and ensuring clarity in the basics of subjects. Both Param and Kameshwar regularly exchanged notes, participated in discussions, and practiced with online mock tests and previous year questions (PYQs).

Apart from GATE, both students also appeared for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) exam and are optimistic about final selections after the interview process. This year’s GATE paper was noted to be slightly lengthy compared to previous years, with qualifying marks set at 25 for General category, 22.5 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 16.6 for SC/ST/PwD categories.

The list of top scorers from Engineers Institute of India includes Krish Paradva (Rank-3), Smit Maganlal Vadadiya (Rank-4), Tuthika Mahesh Anil (Rank-5), Debarghya Chakrabarti (Rank-6), Param Agrahari (Rank-6), Keval Vasoya (Rank-9), Branzil (Rank-15), and Nistha Roy (Rank-16), with a total of 59 students under AIR 100 in the current result list.
