Renowned producer Mitu is now busy with her own production house, Positive Thinkerz, which showcases hard-hitting content for the official YouTube page of the banner, but she was also one of the brains behind iconic shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Pavitra Rishta, and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, among others. One of her cult classics would be Kaahin Kissii Roz, which is still known as one of the best thriller daily soaps of the Indian entertainment industry.
The show featured Yash Tonk, Mouli Ganguly, and Sudha Chandran, among others, and Mitu shared a very interesting piece about how Yash played the iconic Kunal Sikand.
She said, “Yash was not supposed to play Kunal; we had another actor for that role, but he told us that he wanted to do it, and we weree, ‘You don’t fit into the character of Kunal Sikand. So he did a look test by himself and brought the photos to Ekta and told her that he is our Kunal Sikand. He was truly convinced that he could pull it off, and he persuaded us for two weeks. Then we replaced the original actor, and he played the role.”
She further spoke about Sudha Chandran’s iconic role as Ramola Sikand and said that the veteran actress was not ready to play the role initially. Mitu said, “During those days we did not pay any money to actors initially, so Sudha ji was like, how will I do this? It’s not going to work for me. So I told her that you do this role, and it’s going to open doors for you. And it happened. Even today in every interview Sudha ji mentions mye, saying that I made her career.”
Mitu also went to praise writer Mrinal Jha, who wrote the episodes for the show, for her engaging storytelling that kept the audience on the edge of their seats in every episode. She said, “It was Mrinal’s wonderful writing that kept everybody engaged. There was also a point where I was set on doing another show, but my parents used to watch KKR with full involvement and zero interest in what I was doing. So the whole credit goes to her. I don’t think anybody can touch Mrinal’s hand in thrillers.”
