Yami Gautam, Priya Mani, and Vaibhav Tatwawadi starrer Article 370 was released yesterday. The film has been getting some great reviews, especially the performances of the actors have been quite lauded. With this, the Yami Gautam film seems to have made an impressive start at the Box Office too. In fact, it has become the first female-led film of 2024 to draw an impressive collection on its opening at the box office.
On 23rd February, the release day for Article 370 also being Cinema Lovers Day, the ticket prices were at Rs 99, despite that, the movie went on to earn an impressive collection. With this Rs 99 offer, Article 370 earned Rs 9.08 crores on its day 2 at the box office, on the first day the film collected Rs 6.21 crores. With this the film’s 2-days collection stands at a total of Rs 15.20 crores. This collection has been one of the best ones for a female-led film in 2024. In 2023, Rani Mukerji’s Mrs Chatterjee VS Norway was a strong female-led film, that collected around Rs 3.22 crores on day 1. Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi that released in 2022 also went on to earn Rs 10.50 crores on its first day. So, Yami’s film has led the female-centric cinema at the box office in 2024, setting quite a benchmark. With this, the film is receiving a strong word of mouth. It is a wait-and-watch to see the feats it achieves at the Box Office in the days to come.
