Success Story: Vithika Haldar is a successful woman agripreneur in fish farming in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. Vithika studied agriculture only till intermediate. After doing 12th, he started working as a laborer in the fields with his mother. While working as a laborer in the fields, Vithika came to know about the Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Center scheme and approached the nodal officer for training. From here there was a big change in her life and now she has become an inspiration for many women farmers with huge earnings.

2 Months Training

For agri-business training, Vithika approached the nodal officer of the Indian Society of Agri-Business Professionals (ISAP) and joined the training. Vithika has become a center of curiosity for many women farmers in the district. After training, he started the work of fish farming. For this, she has applied for a loan and she wants to expand her business.

Vithika says that the agri-clinic and agri-business center training in fish farming helped her gain technical know-how in fish farming. Without delay, he took the help of his family members and dug his dry pond.

Saw Such A Huge Amount For First Time In My Life

According to the manager, the pond gets filled with water during the rainy season and in the first season he put fingerlings of rohu, katla, and mrigal species. In the first production, he earned a net profit of Rs.20,000. Vithika said I have never seen such a huge amount in my life before. Today the annual turnover of his firm Beauty Fish Farming is more than Rs 3 lakh. 50 farmers are associated with them.
