Swecha Telangana to develop Swecha Gonthuka, a Telugu voice Assistant to train computers & phones to speak like humans in Telugu language!

Hyderabad, February 17th, 2024: Swecha organizationrenowned for creating the first ever Telugu Operating System and AI Chandamama Kathalu; is initiating its second major endeavor Swecha Gonthuka. Swecha Gonthuka is a flagship initiative of Swecha Telangana, dedicated to developing a Telugu voice assistant that captures the essence of local dialects. An AI for Telugu Concert is hosted to encourage public participation and capture the essence of local dialects, today at Swecha Telangana, Gachibowli. Ram Miriyala, Singer and Composer; graced the Concert.

 

Swecha Gonthuka Project is an initiative to train computers and phones to speak like humans in Telugu language. To achieve this, Swecha Telangana is in the process of collecting Telugu voice samples with the goal of amassing 10,000 hours of voice data by the end of February 2024.  AI for Telugu Concert held today, to participate, simply donate your voice, or even better, as a family, by recording 50 Telugu sentences. This will aid in building a dataset that will power the next generation of AI in Telugu.  The fruits of this efforts will be showcased at the Swecha AI Days Conference to held by the end of March 2024.

 

Speaking on the occasion Ram Miriyala said, this is a special experience, the voice you all gave means a lot for AI.  

 

Swecha Telangana aims at providing global software solutions to the local people with the Free Software development model. It has made significant strides in the media and technology community, engaging over 8,000 participants in AI Chandamama Kathalu Datathon from various colleges across Telangana state. On January 6, 2024, we were honored to have Shobu Yarlagadda, the producer of the Bahubali movie, launch our Telugu small language model.
