Gurugram, June 16, 2025 – International kickboxing champion Sudhir Saxena was honoured today by Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, the CMD and CEO of REC India Ltd, during a special event organized at the REC Corporate Office in Gurugram. The event, held on the occasion of a Blood Donation Camp, recognized Sudhir not only for his sporting achievements but also for his inspiring role in social impact and youth empowerment.

The ceremony took place at the Ground Floor, REC Auditorium, E-Block, where guests, staff members, and volunteers gathered for a noble cause: donating blood to save lives. Sudhir was invited as the Guest of Honour for the event, a title that reflects both his international success in the sport of kickboxing and his growing presence as a motivator and public figure dedicated to social service.

A Champion Beyond the Ring

Sudhir Saxena, hailing from Lahasani village in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, has steadily emerged as a powerful name in Indian combat sports. He recently brought pride to the nation by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Kickboxing Championships in Cambodia and a silver medal at the 4th India Open Kickboxing Championship in Delhi.

However, it is not just his accolades in the ring that have captured the public’s attention. Sudhir has also become a symbol of determination, humility, and social responsibility. From supporting NGOs across India, working for the upliftment of underprivileged communities, to actively promoting blood donation and health awareness, his impact extends far beyond sports.

Recognizing Courage, Character, and Contribution

While addressing the audience, Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, lauded Sudhir for his courage and commitment to national pride.

“Sudhir’s story is not just about winning medals, it’s about inspiring a generation. His discipline, social commitment, and humble approach make him a role model not only for athletes but for every young Indian. We are proud to host him today as a Guest of Honour,” said Shri Srivastava.

Sudhir, in his brief but heartfelt address, emphasized the importance of giving back to society:

“Sport has taught me resilience, but it’s the community that shaped who I am. I feel privileged to be part of this noble cause today. Donating blood is a silent act of heroism—we all can be heroes in someone’s life,” he said.

A Life Powered by Support and Service

Sudhir credits his success to a network of strong supporters—his father, Mr. Suresh Saxena, who encouraged his dreams from the very beginning, and his wife, Priyanka Gautam, who has stood by him in every step of his journey. He also acknowledges the Gauravi Foundation, led by Mahesh Verma and Summit Chaudhry, for their ongoing support in both his athletic and philanthropic ventures.

Furthermore, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has also played a pivotal role in Sudhir’s development, offering him sponsorship and recognition during key milestones, including his felicitation on Republic Day by PNB MD & CEO Shri Ashok Chandra.

Inspiring Through Action

As a sportsman, Sudhir has represented India with pride. As a public figure, he continues to inspire youth to engage in fitness, community service, and self-discipline. His presence at the REC blood donation camp wasn’t just symbolic—it reinforced the message that every individual has the power to give back, regardless of their field.

With future championships on the horizon, Sudhir remains committed to both excellence in sport and service to society. Events like today highlight how sports icons can be influential forces for social change.

Sudhir Saxena’s journey is a reminder that true champions rise not only on podiums but also in their ability to uplift those around them.
