Star Plus has introduced actor Vishal Shetty as Roy D’Souza in the ongoing culinary track of its popular television show Anupamaa.
Roy enters the storyline as a vibrant, charming and fun-loving judge. However, when it comes to the competition, he is strict, fair and does not allow personal equations to influence his decisions.
The current track follows Anupamaa, played by Rupali Ganguly, as she participates in the culinary competition connected to Love You Zindagi Café. Roy shares a friendly equation with Digvijay, played by Sachin Tyagi, who is associated with Team Anupamaa. Despite their friendship, Roy remains impartial and evaluates every contestant purely on merit.
Vishal fits the requirements of the character naturally. Much like Roy, he brings together a professional and creative side. Along with acting he has also pursued modelling and dance, giving him the personality and confidence required for the role.
His screen presence has gradually caught viewers’ attention, and Roy’s personality has
received a warm response, especially from the show’s female audience, who also seem to love his striking looks.
Opening up about his experience on the show, Vishal shared that he has formed a friendly bond with the cast and crew. He added that the warmth he received on set helped him settle into the role and made the entire experience feel special.
The culinary storyline also connects with Vishal’s own interest in food. He enjoys healthy eating and has a particular fondness for Asian cuisine, which makes playing a judge in a cooking competition feel slightly surreal for him.
