About the Artist
With an artistic journey spanning nearly three decades, Bhaskar Singha has developed a unique visual language deeply influenced by Indian philosophical thought and contemporary socio-cultural narratives. Initially celebrated for his layered watercolour techniques—often applying up to twelve translucent washes—he later transitioned to acrylic on canvas, maintaining the meditative essence of his earlier work.
Singha’s themes traverse both personal and collective consciousness, ranging from child labour and psychological unrest to spiritual reflections inspired by Sanatan philosophy and the teachings of the Ramakrishna Mission.
Artistic Vision
Bhaskar Singha’s works are more than visual experiences—they are poetic meditations on the human condition. His canvases capture both movement and stillness through subtle symbolism: the breeze on a beach, a solitary figure in a clean India campaign, or tributes to icons like Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, and Satyajit Ray.
Signature works such as Youth, Maa Sarodha, and other spiritually resonant pieces exemplify his ability to balance realism, emotional depth, and philosophical inquiry.
Exhibition Legacy
Singha’s exhibitions have graced major galleries across India, including:
-
Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai
-
Birla Academy, Kolkata
-
Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore
-
Canvas Art Gallery, New Delhi

Multiple editions at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi
The 2023 edition of Realms of Peace at Visual Art Gallery received acclaim for its spiritual clarity and aesthetic harmony. This fifth chapter continues that legacy, inviting viewers to experience art as a form of introspection, a visual dialogue between colour, form, and the quest for peace.
