Shree Cement CSR: Supporting 1,763 Farmers with Alfalfa Seeds for Sustainable Livelihoods

Shree Foundation Trust, the social development arm of Shree Cement Ltd., one of India’s leading cement producers, has distributed Almadar three-year Alfalfa (Rajka) fodder seeds to 1,763 farmers across 13 gram panchayats surrounding its Ras and Beawar units.

This initiative is part of Shree Cement’s ongoing efforts to enhance fodder availability for livestock and strengthen the income resilience of farming households, thereby promoting sustainable rural development.

Commitment to Inclusive Rural Growth

The programme underscores Shree Cement’s commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices, livelihood improvement, and resource management in its operational regions. It forms a key part of the company’s broader community development agenda focused on livelihood enhancement, skill-building, and inclusive growth.

Event Highlights

The seed distribution drive was conducted in the presence of company officials, including:

  • Mr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal (Store Head, Ras)

  • Mr. Kushal Sankhla (Electrical Department, Ras)

  • Mr. Vishal Jayswal, Mr. Amit Tak, and Mr. Jitendra Kumar Dagdi (CSR Team)

  • Social workers Mr. Devendra Singh Jodha (Gopalpura–Babra) and Mr. Sohan Lal Kumawat (Bootivas)

Under this programme, a total of 3,526 kilograms of Alfalfa (Rajka) seeds were distributed—2 kilograms per farmer. The voluntary contributions collected from participants were donated to local government schools to support infrastructure and educational development.

Beyond the distribution of fodder seeds, the programme also facilitates knowledge-sharing on agronomic practices, encouraging farmers to adopt diversified cropping systems and sustainable input use.

The initiative aims to improve crop resilience, livestock rearing, and income stability, thereby contributing to a more sustainable agricultural ecosystem in the region.
