Reel Life vs. Real Life: Amogh Lila Das Prabhu’s Lessons at Noida International University

Noida, 5 September 2025 – Noida International University (NIU) hosted an inspiring and thought-provoking session for its first-year B.Tech students and their parents, featuring renowned spiritual leader and motivational speaker Shri Amogh Lila Das Prabhu, Vice President of ISKCON Dwarka, as the Chief Guest.

The event began with a warm welcome and felicitation by Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor of NIU, who highlighted the importance of guidance in shaping young minds. She remarked, “The right education and guidance lead to the right path. Having Shri Amogh Lila Das Prabhu with us is both a joy and an inspiration, as his wisdom will guide us toward a meaningful and purposeful journey.”

In her address, Dr. Tanya Singh, Dean Academics, emphasized the relevance of spirituality in today’s fast-paced world. “Spirituality helps us live life in a better way. Today’s children are increasingly dependent on technology, often leading to confusion. We are honored to welcome Shri Amogh Lila Das Prabhu, who will enlighten our students with his vast knowledge and life lessons.”

Delivering his keynote talk on “Reel Life vs Real Life: Lessons for Today’s Students”, Shri Amogh Lila Das Prabhu drew a striking comparison between the glamourized version of college life seen in films and the real-world challenges faced by students. He explained that while movies often depict college years as carefree and entertaining, the reality requires discipline, focus, responsibility, and the pursuit of knowledge.

He also highlighted the key distractions affecting youth today—excessive use of mobile phones, social media addiction, unhealthy relationships, substance abuse, and lack of physical activity. Urging students to live consciously, he said:
“Technology is an excellent servant but a dangerous master. Just as a monk in a monastery must live like a monk, a student in a university must live like a true student—with dedication, discipline, and purpose.”

The session deeply resonated with students and parents alike, motivating them to adopt healthy habits, engage in meaningful conversations, avoid distractions, and strike a balance between enjoyment and responsibility during their academic journey. Shri Amogh Lila Das Prabhu also interacted with students in a Q&A session and personally signed copies of the Bhagavad Gita, making the event even more memorable.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Akash Sharma, Director of Admissions & Outreach, who expressed gratitude to Shri Amogh Lila Das Prabhu for sharing his wisdom and to NIU for creating a platform that harmonizes academic learning with spiritual enrichment.

By hosting such impactful sessions, NIU continues its mission of nurturing not just educated professionals but also responsible individuals guided by values and purpose.
