Aanand L Rai’s birthday wish for Dhanush, a heartfelt video compilation of photographs spanning over a decade of their journey together, is proof of exactly that. Captioning it “Happy birthday Bacche. Love you! Stay blessed,” the National Award-winning filmmaker said it all in six words. From Raanjhanaa in 2013, where Aanand L Rai introduced Dhanush to Hindi cinema, to Atrangi Re and their hat-trick collaboration Tere Ishk Mein in 2025, theirs is a partnership that has only grown richer with time, and a friendship that clearly means the world to both of them.
