India, 29 October 2025: Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), the Queensland, Australia Government’s global business agency, is leading a high-profile delegation of mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) companies to the International Mining, Equipment & Minerals Exhibition (IME) 2025, being held in Kolkata from 30 October to 2 November.
The delegation showcases Queensland, Australia’s world-class mining expertise, spanning digital innovation, mine-safety systems, critical-minerals technology, and sustainable mining practices, at a time when India is rapidly transforming its mining and resources sector to meet its energy-transition goals.
“IME 2025 comes at a moment when the global outlook for mining and critical minerals is evolving rapidly,” said Abhinav Bhatia, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner – South Asia, Trade and Investment Queensland. “Our objective is to strengthen collaboration that drives innovation, improves safety, and supports India’s transition toward sustainable growth and self-reliance. Queensland, Australia’s METS expertise aligns closely with India’s ambitions for responsible and future-ready mining.”
Participating Queensland, Australia companies include:
- PX4 – Advanced land-management software for regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making
- Veldon Group – Integrated engineering solutions across energy, renewables, and infrastructure
- Mineral Technologies – High-efficiency mineral-processing systems improving recovery and sustainability
- Nome – Rock-monitoring technology enhancing safety and performance
- Rim-Lock® – Mine-safety systems with automatic tyre and rim-retention technology

Extending India engagement beyond IME
Following IME 2025, the delegation will travel to Bhubaneswar on 1 November for a dedicated Queensland, Australia METS Mission, engaging Indian mining companies, distributors, and policymakers to explore partnerships in technology transfer, safety innovation, and sustainable mine operations.
Queensland, Australia is among the nation’s leading export-oriented states and a key trade partner for India. According to the Queensland–India Trade & Investment Strategy 2025-28, Queensland’s goods exports to India reached AUD 14.4 billion in 2024, with coal representing the largest share, valued at AUD 12.7 billion.
As both India and Australia pursue cleaner energy and resource efficiency, Queensland’s METS sector is increasingly collaborating with Indian partners in areas such as critical minerals, automation, and low-emission technologies — supporting India’s goal of achieving 50 % non-fossil-fuel power generation by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070.
“Queensland, Australia is proud to partner with India in advancing responsible mining and sustainable resource development,” Bhatia added. “Our companies bring deep technical know-how, safety culture, and environmental leadership that complement India’s scale and ambition.”
