The revolutionary tale of Devi Chowdhurani – The Bandit Queen of Bengal has taken West Bengal by storm. Starring powerhouse performers Prosenjit Chatterjee and Srabani, the film has emerged as a roaring box office success, continuing its triumphant run across theatres in the state.
The film features Srabanti Chatterjee in a powerful portrayal of the titular character, supported by an ensemble cast including Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Arjun Chakraborty, Darshana Banik, Bibriti Chatterjee, and Kinjal Nanda. Set against the tumultuous backdrop of 1770 Bengal, the narrative traces the Sanyasi-Fakir rebellion capturing the extraordinary story of Devi Chowdhurani, a fearless revolutionary leader. Under the mentorship of Bhawani Pathak, played by Prosenjit Chaterjee, a Robin Hood-like figure who defied British rule and championed the oppressed, her journey becomes a stirring tale of courage, justice, and rebellion.
Devi Chowdhurani is produced by Aparna Dasgupta and Aniruddha Dasgupta of ADited Motion Pictures, in collaboration with Soumyajit Majumdar from LOK Arts Collective.
