Pranitaa Pandit: Why My Husband and I Fast Together

Acclaimed television actress Pranitaa Pandit, known for her memorable performances in Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Jamai Raja, and Kavach, has always charmed audiences with her grace and versatility. Beyond acting, she is also an entrepreneur, content creator, and philanthropist — actively contributing to social causes through her NGO, Prasara.

Celebrating Love Across Cities

This year, Pranitaa is celebrating Karwa Chauth a little differently — away from her husband but surrounded by love and family. Currently in Delhi, she shares how she’s cherishing the festive spirit with her mother and sister, reliving the traditions she grew up watching.

“So this year, Karwa Chauth is going to be a little different for me. I’m in Delhi, celebrating with my family — surrounded by my mom and sister, excited to put on mehendi and relive all those little traditions together. My husband’s in Bombay, so yes, there’s a bit of distance, but honestly, it doesn’t really change the feeling. Love finds its way through every screen and every prayer. We’ll be opening the fast digitally this time — a modern twist to an age-old tradition, but the emotions remain just as pure and special,” she shares.

A Virtual Celebration of Togetherness

Distance doesn’t dim the festive glow for Pranitaa and her husband — the couple will celebrate together virtually.

“We’ll do the moon sighting over a video call — that’s the beauty of technology! Love doesn’t need physical proximity; it just needs effort and intent, and we both make sure of that every year,” she says warmly.

The Essence of Equality in Love

For Pranitaa, Karwa Chauth is more than a ritual — it’s a celebration of emotional connection and equality.

“We have seen my mom and dad celebrating since we were kids, so this festival holds a lot of emotional value for me. It’s a very special day to celebrate togetherness, even if you are miles apart.”

She also reveals that both she and her husband fast together each year.

“Yes, we both fast together every year — no matter where we are. Even if we’re in different cities, we make sure to follow the rituals side by side virtually. This year too, he’ll be fasting along with me. It’s our way of celebrating love and equality in our relationship.”

Fashion, Traditions, and Timeless Memories

Known for her elegant style, Pranitaa is keeping her festive look simple yet stunning this year.

“I’ve chosen a pretty saree and accessories for the celebration. As for the gift, I think the biggest one will be seeing him soon after I’m back from Delhi. But yes, he always finds a way to surprise me, even from a distance!”

Reminiscing fondly, she recalls her first Karwa Chauth as the most special.

“We were both so new to the rituals, yet so excited to experience them together. That memory still gives me butterflies! Every year since, we’ve created our own little traditions around it, which makes it even more special.”

A Modern Ritual with Wholesome Traditions

When it comes to fasting, Pranitaa keeps it balanced and nourishing.

“For sargi, I love my Muesli bowl with fruits and Greek yogurt — oats, banana, apple, chia seeds, and a drizzle of honey. It keeps you full for hours,” she shares.

“I break my fast with coconut water and dates ladoo with fruits. At night, the meal depends on where I am. At my in-laws’ place, it’s always kadi chawal, that’s the family tradition. But at my mom’s house, it’s aloo ki sabzi, puri, and dahi wada — that’s a must!”

Evolving Traditions, Eternal Emotions

Reflecting on how the festival has evolved, Pranitaa believes the heart of Karwa Chauth remains unchanged.

“Earlier, it was seen as a one-sided ritual, but today, it’s about mutual love and equality. It’s beautiful to see men also fasting or standing by their partners. The emotion behind it remains pure and everlasting.”

Even miles apart, Pranitaa Pandit’s Karwa Chauth this year beautifully captures the essence of modern love — connected by hearts, celebrated through screens, and strengthened by faith.
