Designed as a single-window platform to empower entrepreneurs, enable seamless B2B trade, and simplify access to government schemes across India
November 25, 2025, New Delhi: In a transformative step toward strengthening India’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) ecosystem, the National Industries Research and Development Council (NIRDC)—an autonomous institution under the Ministry of MSME—has announced the development of InDApp, an indigenous one-stop digital platform designed to revolutionize the way Indian entrepreneurs connect, trade, and grow. Positioned to become India’s Alibaba for the MSME sector, InDApp represents a significant leap in digital industrial empowerment, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
Supported by eight key ministries, the platform has been developed specifically to expand market access, enhance visibility for local businesses, and provide streamlined, real-time access to essential resources and government services. The platform aims to create globally competitive Indian brands, uplift artisans, craftsmen, and small manufacturers, and boost their contribution to India’s economic growth story.
A Pan-India Digital Marketplace Built for MSMEs
InDApp has been conceptualized as a comprehensive digital ecosystem where MSMEs can thrive beyond geographical and infrastructural constraints. The platform offers an expansive suite of features—ranging from access to capital, government scheme information, business networking, and training modules to a full-fledged marketplace for listing products and services.
For entrepreneurs operating from remote corners of the country, InDApp opens a powerful gateway to national visibility. A trader from a small town can now list products under designated categories, connect with buyers and suppliers across states, and participate in a structured digital marketplace designed specifically for Indian business needs. The multi-functional design not only improves discoverability but also encourages cross-sector collaborations and vendor-to-vendor partnerships.
Transformative Multi-Ministry Integration
NIRDC has built InDApp through extensive collaboration with multiple government ministries, ensuring seamless integration of schemes, permissions, and regulatory updates. The app currently incorporates resources from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairy, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
This integrated approach allows entrepreneurs to access a unified knowledge base without navigating multiple bureaucratic portals. By consolidating diverse information into a single window, InDApp significantly reduces the time and effort required to benefit from government initiatives, apply for clearances, understand compliance processes, or explore incentives.
A Hybrid Engagement Model for Inclusive Growth
Speaking about the platform, Shambhu Singh, National Chairman, NIRDC, emphasized the dual power of digital and physical outreach.
He said, “By integrating physical outreach with digital support, InDApp creates a seamless interface that promotes transparency, efficiency, and inclusive participation. This hybrid engagement model ensures that even the smallest enterprises can access national and global opportunities, leveraging both in-person and virtual avenues for growth and innovation.”
The platform’s design philosophy centers on accessibility, ensuring that businesses of all sizes—from rural artisans to emerging urban enterprises—can participate in the digital economy without barriers.
Subscription-Based Easy Access on Play Store and App Store
InDApp is available on both Android and iOS platforms through a simple subscription model. Once onboarded, businesses can benefit from multiple features:
-
Live updates on government schemes and MSME-related announcements
-
Notifications about business events, workshops, and training programs
-
A social-network-like interface where entrepreneurs can interact, collaborate, and build meaningful B2B connections
-
Marketplace listings for products and services to boost visibility and sales
-
Centralised dashboards for applications, permissions, and scheme tracking
This unified approach empowers MSMEs to stay informed, connected, and competitive—without additional administrative burden.
A Major Technological Milestone for Indian Industry
According to Lalit Varma, Vice-Chairman, NIRDC, InDApp marks a significant moment in India’s technological evolution.
He noted, “NIRDC’s InDApp can be seen as India’s core technological innovation, and I believe the application’s multi-sectoral, multi-utilitarian model is what the country needs most today. By centralising access and simplifying navigation through bureaucratic procedures, the app significantly reduces the time and effort required to benefit from government initiatives.”
The formal launch of the app is scheduled for November 26, to be officiated by the Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. This launch is expected to set a new benchmark in digital industrial governance and MSME facilitation.
