Chennai, India, June 11th, 2025 — Garuda Aerospace, India’s fast-rising drone manufacturing powerhouse backed by cricketer MS Dhoni, has secured fresh investment from the Narotam Sekhsaria Family Office (NSFO) in the lead-up to its much-anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO). The funding round also saw continued support from existing investors, including We Founder Circle (WFC), marking another significant step forward in Garuda’s expansion journey.
This investment follows Garuda Aerospace’s successful ₹100 crore Series B round led by Venture Catalysts (VCats) and comes on the heels of its widely recognized ‘Operation Sindoor Defence Drone Surge’. The company’s latest funding round is a clear endorsement of its strategic direction and growing relevance in India’s evolving defence-tech and drone ecosystems.
The capital will be instrumental in scaling up production from 8,000 to 12,000–15,000 drones annually, with a long-term target of 50,000 drones in the coming years. The company is also investing heavily in R&D to fully indigenize its airborne and ground defence drone systems within 3–5 years — a critical move to support India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision in defence manufacturing. Moreover, Garuda aims to expand its export presence to 50 countries by the end of 2025.
“We are delighted to welcome the Narotam Sekhsaria Family Office as a strategic investor,” said Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace. “Their support reaffirms our mission to build a globally competitive drone-tech company from India. This funding will accelerate our innovation efforts and help scale our national and global ambitions.”
Garuda Aerospace, once known primarily for its agricultural drones, has evolved into a multi-sector player with advanced drone systems for defence surveillance, logistics, and tactical operations. The recent Indo-Pak tensions have spotlighted the urgent need for indigenous drone capabilities, positioning Garuda at the heart of India’s national defence strategy.
To date, the company has sold over 4,000 drones, serving more than 400 clients, and boasts key collaborations with international defence majors like Thales, Elbit Systems, Lockheed Martin, and Cognizant. Domestically, Garuda works closely with HAL, BEML, and government programs such as the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ initiative, underlining its deep commitment to national development and women empowerment.
With a strong foundation in technology, manufacturing, and strategic partnerships, Garuda Aerospace is well-poised to dominate both the domestic and global drone markets. As it gears up for its IPO, the company exemplifies the future of Made-in-India innovation with global impact.
