The Mumbai–Goa Coastal Cycling Expedition, held from 24th December to 29th December 2025, marked the successful completion of a challenging and inspiring initiative aimed at promoting the natural beauty, rich culture, and tourism potential of the Konkan region. Covering an arduous ~570 km coastal route, the expedition was managed by the Commando Training School and stood as a true test of endurance, discipline, and teamwork.
At the heart of this remarkable journey was Vinod Yadav (46) from Virar, whose performance and perseverance emerged as a key highlight of the expedition. A fitness-driven IT sales professional and seasoned endurance athlete, Vinod continues to redefine age and limits through unwavering discipline and passion for sport. His impressive endurance profile includes 3 full marathons, over 25 half marathons, and iconic cycling expeditions such as Manali to Leh (~423 km), making the Mumbai–Goa ride another significant milestone in his endurance journey.
Born and raised in a remote village in Jharkhand, Vinod Yadav’s story is one of resilience and determination. From walking several kilometers daily to attend a government school to building a successful professional career in Mumbai, his life reflects the power of perseverance, hard work, and self-belief—qualities that were evident throughout the demanding coastal expedition.
Vinod was joined by fellow cyclists Vikas Sharma (26) from Shimla, Uttam Padhiar (28) from Mumbai, Suraj Pandey (26) from Virar, and Manish Jha (36) from Nallasopara, who together demonstrated strong camaraderie and team spirit while navigating the challenging coastal terrain.
The expedition concluded on 29th December 2025 on a high note, celebrating not only physical achievement but also unity, adventure, and the promotion of India’s scenic coastal heritage.
