The Mumbai–Goa Coastal Cycling Expedition, held from December 24th to December 29th, 2025, marked the successful completion of a challenging and inspiring initiative. The journey aimed to promote the natural beauty, rich culture, and tourism potential of the Konkan region. Covering an arduous 570 km coastal route, the expedition was managed by the Commando Training School and stood as a true test of endurance, discipline, and teamwork.
At the heart of this remarkable journey was Uttam Padhiar (28) from Mumbai, whose performance and perseverance emerged as a key highlight. A fitness-driven IT Data Center Engineer and seasoned endurance athlete, Uttam continues to redefine his limits through unwavering discipline and a passion for sports. His impressive endurance profile includes one full marathon and over five half marathons, making the Mumbai–Goa ride another significant milestone in his journey.
Born and raised in a remote village, Uttam Padhiar’s story is one of resilience and determination. From studying in a government school to building a successful professional career in Mumbai, his life reflects the power of perseverance, hard work, and self-belief—qualities that were evident throughout the demanding coastal expedition.
Uttam was joined by fellow cyclists Vinod Yadav (48) from Virar, Vikas Sharma (26) from Shimla, Suraj Pandey (26) from Virar, and Manish Jha (36) from Nallasopara. Together, they demonstrated strong camaraderie and team spirit while navigating the challenging coastal terrain.
