Moon Banerrjee, who has been part of shows like Chashme Baddoor, Abhimaan, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Muskaan, Sasural Simar Ka 2, and Doree, is excited about Holi, which will be celebrated on March 14. She said, “Holi is my favourite festival, and I love playing Holi. Of course, it should be played responsibly, as preserving water is the need of the hour.”
“I will prefer to play dry holi with organic colours and thandai, lots of pakodis, and gujiya, but that’s very rare in Mumbai, though,” she added.
She has requested everyone to avoid water balloons and dirty colours and said, “Because kids can’t differentiate, and it can be bad for them also. Throwing balloons on animals and elderly people is in very bad taste. It’s important to stop the source and ban these things.”
Moon also shared her skincare and clothing choices at the festival. She said, “I generally tie hair into a braid, and skin is mostly with loads of sunscreen and lotions, nothing more than that. I am an all-white person on Holi so that all the colours on me are seen loud and clear, so either it’s a tee with denim or a white saree/salwar kameez with boho earrings and bangles.”
Asked her to describe herself in a colour, and Moon said, “I have two moods: one is white and the other is red. Whites are my all-time favourite, and red is when I want to feel vibrant and upbeat.”
As for food, she loves “all the Holi delicacies like pakodas, gujiya, dahi bhalla, rabdi, jalebi, and a little bit of bhaang laddoos.”
Best Holi memory? “Seven years back I was in Delhi with my extended family, and it was one of the best Holi experiences to date because festivals with family and close friends make it very special. The whole house was buzzing with joy, laughter, colours, the smell of freshly fried veg pakoras, and a drum full of thandai, gujiya, dahi bhallas, etc., so it was the best by far,” Moon ended.
