India Has 4.12 Million Creators and Zero Platforms Built For Them. MeTubez Is Changing That.

The structural mismatch between India’s creator supply and the platforms serving them has defined a decade. MeTubez’s design brief: serve the creator who has been systematically ignored.

India produces 4.12 million creators who publish content regularly. Sixty-six percent live outside the top metros. Most speak Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, or Gujarati as their primary content language. They shoot landscapes. They earn less than ₹10,000 per month. And they build on platforms designed somewhere else, for someone else.

This is India’s creator famine. Not a shortage of creators. A shortage of platforms built for them.

“The creator economy conversation in India has been dominated by platforms optimized for other markets. YouTube optimizes algorithmically for American viewing. Instagram adjusts for global English-speaking audiences. India becomes one localization project among many. We refused to accept that framing,” said Raj Shah, Chief Business Officer of MeTubez and Director of Swytch Web3 Technologies Pvt Ltd.

MeTubez is designed around a specific creator profile that existing platforms systematically underserve.

The Tier 3 Hindi cooking creator who shoots landscape, speaks regional Hindi, and generates 20,000 views per video but cannot cross YouTube’s monetization gate because her subscriber count is 400.

The Bhojpuri musician who releases three songs a week to 50,000 cumulative views but earns nothing because Instagram Reels monetization in India requires special invitation.

The small-town cricket commentator who films local tournaments in 16:9 and watches his content get vertically cropped into unrecognizable fragments on every available platform.

Each of these creators represents a structural gap. MeTubez’s design brief is to serve them specifically: landscape 16:9 playback, 10+ Indian language content categories, zero subscriber thresholds, flat per-view earnings from Day 1, Tier 2-4 audience focus.

The result is a platform where the creator who was previously invisible to the algorithm becomes the creator the algorithm was built for.

India’s creator famine isn’t a demand problem. It is a supply problem. For the first time, Indian creators have a platform built around their reality, not a platform where they must adapt to someone else’s.
