Jagran Film Festival Mumbai Finale (Nov 13-16): Anupam Kher Discusses Emotional Film ‘Tanvi The Great’

Mumbai, November 13, 2025: The 13th edition of the Jagran Film Festival (JFF) — the world’s largest traveling film festival — is set to conclude with a memorable finale in Mumbai from November 13–16, 2025, at Cinépolis, Fun Republic Mall, Andheri West.

As the festival draws to a close, Tanvi The Great — a film that touched hearts during its special screening at JFF’s Delhi chapter in September — returns to take center stage once again. The film had deeply resonated with both children and parents alike, moving audiences to tears with its poignant storytelling and touching performances.

To mark the grand finale, veteran actor Anupam Kher and young co-star Shubhangi Dutt will reunite for a heartfelt and reflective conversation about their shared journey with the film — an emotional and fitting conclusion that embodies JFF’s enduring spirit of storytelling, empathy, and cinematic celebration.

Anupam Kher Reflects on a Transformative Role

Speaking about his experience, Anupam Kher shared,

“There are films you work on, and then there are films that work on you; Tanvi The Great was the latter for me. It is a story that speaks to the heart with such honesty that you cannot help but be changed by it. The process of portraying this character allowed me to explore a space of emotional truth that is rare and deeply fulfilling for an actor.”

Kher also reflected on the audience’s powerful response at the Delhi showcase, saying,

“To see parents and children respond with such warmth, empathy, and tears was profoundly moving. Their reactions reminded us that cinema is at its most powerful when it becomes a shared emotional experience — one that brings people closer to themselves and to each other. I’m thankful to platforms like the Jagran Film Festival that allow stories like these to travel, touch hearts, and remind us why we make films in the first place.”

Shubhangi Dutt on Portraying Tanvi and Connecting with Audiences

Sharing her own reflections on the journey, Shubhangi Dutt expressed,

“Portraying Tanvi challenged me in the best way. It required honesty, vulnerability, and a deep emotional presence. As an actor, it was a rare gift to inhabit a character who sees the world with such purity, strength, and hope.”

She added,

“What moved me most was hearing how families related to her journey and found pieces of themselves in her story. When a film creates that kind of emotional bridge, you know it has done something meaningful. I’m grateful to the Jagran Film Festival for giving us a space where emotions and stories come alive in such a heartfelt way.”

A Fitting Finale for a Festival that Celebrates Cinema from the Heart

The closing reflections on Tanvi The Great serve as a poetic and powerful conclusion to JFF’s 13th edition — a festival that continues to champion stories that move, inspire, and unite. As the curtains fall in Mumbai, the conversation between Anupam Kher and Shubhangi Dutt promises to leave audiences with what Tanvi The Great embodies most — the enduring belief that cinema, at its best, is an act of connection and compassion.
