IPL 2024 Auction: CSK can buy these 3 players released from RCB, will become Brahmastra for MS Dhoni

All 10 teams of the Indian Premier League have announced the list of their released and retained players. Now there will be an auction of players for IPL 2024 in Dubai on December 19, where 10 franchises will invest brains and money to strengthen their squad.

On November 26, 10 IPL teams released a total of 81 players. Punjab Kings released the least number of players while Kolkata Knight Riders (12) topped the list. Royal Challengers Bangalore also released many of their key players. Five-time champion CSK can buy these three RCB players in the auction. Let us know which 3 players CSK can target.

1) Harshal Patel – Harshal Patel broke his ties with RCB after 2021 this year. In IPL 2021, Harshal Patel won the Purple Cap by taking 32 wickets. Patel took 19 and 14 wickets respectively in the next two seasons. But Patel’s problem has been his economy.

Everyone has seen him getting crushed in the last overs. While RCB saved Rs 10 crore by releasing Harshal, CSK can buy him. Harshal Patel has the mix and also knows how to bowl accurate yorkers. MS Dhoni knows very well how to get better performance from such a player. CSK will have increased options for Indian bowlers.

2) Wanindu Hasaranga – Sri Lanka’s leading spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has had a good season for RCB. He took 35 wickets in 26 matches. Hasaranga took 26 wickets in IPL 2022, where his economy was 8.13. He wants to contribute with the bat also. RCB released Hasaranga before the IPL 2024 auction.

Wanindu Hasaranga can prove to be a trump card for Chennai Super Kings. Fans have seen how Dhoni worked with Pathirana. Hasaranga is a very good spinner and he can prove to be Brahmastra for Dhoni in Chepauk.

3) Josh Hazlewood – Australia’s leading fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is famous in the cricket world for his economical bowling. Hazlewood was a part of CSK in IPL 2021, then he was with RCB for the next two years. Hazlewood took 20 wickets in 12 matches for RCB in IPL 2022. Hazlewood was troubled by injuries in IPL 2023 and returned home after playing only three matches.

CSK team can once again buy Hazlewood. MS Dhoni has done a better job than Hazlewood in the past too. In IPL 2021, Hazlewood took 11 wickets in 9 matches. Dhoni knows in which situations using Hazlewood can prove beneficial for the Yellow Brigade.
