Mumbai, India – May 15, 2024 – Pancham Nishad, renowned for its dedication to Indian classical music presents the much-anticipated 22nd edition of its annual extravaganza, “AAROHI” – A Festival of Rising Stars, Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai’s cultural heartland, the event is slated to take place on May 24th and 25th, 2024, from 6.00 p.m. onwards for 2 days, at the esteemed Y.B. Chavan Auditorium, Nariman Point. “The festival will showcase an exceptional line up of talented artists, each poised with their virtuosity and passion for his/her craft to regale and enthral the audience.
AAROHI, meaning “ascension” in Sanskrit, embodies the spirit of climbing towards greatness, and this year’s edition is no exception. Aarohi has etched its name as a coveted platform for emerging talents, showcasing the brilliance of budding and talented artistes who represent the future of classical music. With a legacy dating back to 2002, the event has been a nurturing ground for over 130 young artistes, each contributing a unique hue to the rich tapestry of Indian classical music.

Susmirata Dawalkar – Vocal
From a young age, Susmirata Dawalkar has been hailed as a musical prodigy. Her journey soared when she won the prestigious national award, Balashree, at just 13. Under the mentorship of luminaries like Sachin Nevpurkar and Vidushi Devaki Pandit, Susmirata’s performances are marked by a deep understanding of classical nuances and a captivating resonance that entrances audiences.
Shantanu Gokhale – Santoor
Immersed in a family deeply rooted in musical tradition, Shantanu Gokhale embarked on his musical journey at three. Under the guidance of the legendary Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, he mastered the intricacies of the santoor. Shantanu’s performances weave together technical brilliance and emotional depth, transporting listeners to realms of serenity with every note, carrying centuries of musical heritage.
Viraj Joshi – Vocal
Carrying the esteemed lineage of the legendary vocalist Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, he embodies the essence of musical heritage. Guided initially by his father Shrinivas Joshi and further enriched under the tutelage of Shri. Sudhakar Chavan, His mellifluous voice and profound commitment to his art have garnered acclaim both nationally and internationally. Viraj’s performances seamlessly blend technical virtuosity with heartfelt emotion, leaving audiences spellbound with each rendition.

Srushti Kulkarni – Vocal
Guided by the wisdom of her guru Pandit Suresh Bapat, Srushti Kulkarni is a torchbearer of tradition and innovation in Indian classical music. Momin Khan – Sarangi
Momin Khan, representing the esteemed Jaipur Gharana, is a sarangi maestro mentored by his father, Ustad Moinuddin Khan. His performances, characterized by technical virtuosity and emotive depth, transcend linguistic barriers, touching hearts worldwide with the sarangi’s evocative voice-like qualities.
Annirudha Aithal – Vocal
Under the guidance of mentors like Smt. Geetha Garud Prithviraj and Dr. Ashok Huggannavar, Annirudha Aithal’s musical journey epitomizes a relentless pursuit of excellence. His performances showcase a rare blend of technical precision and artistic finesse, captivating audiences with their sheer beauty and emotive depth, highlighting the transformative power of music education.
