Heatwave Warning for Gujarat & Rajasthan
Gujarat and Rajasthan are set to experience intense heatwave conditions, with IMD predicting extreme temperatures in Saurashtra & Kutch for the next seven days. Heatwave conditions are expected in West Rajasthan (April 5-8), Gujarat Region (April 6-8), and East Rajasthan (April 7-8).
Orange Alert: Thunderstorms in Karnataka & Telangana
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Chhattisgarh, Interior Karnataka, and Telangana on April 3rd due to expected thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds (40-50 kmph), and hail. Hailstorms are also predicted for West Madhya Pradesh.
Heavy Rainfall Alert for Tamil Nadu & Kerala
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karnataka will experience heavy rainfall until April 5th, while Kerala can expect showers until April 6th. Thunderstorms with gusty winds will impact central and eastern India, including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha, until April 4th.
Rising Temperatures Across India
Temperatures across Northwest India are expected to rise by 3-5°C in the coming week. IMD Chief Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has predicted a hotter-than-usual summer, with an increase in heatwave days across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
