Public Bike Sharing company in India!
· Government of India awards Chandigarh Public Bike Sharing System, implemented and operated by Smartbike, the First Prize under Mobility Category out of the 100 Smart Cities in India.

Hyderabad, September 28th, 2023: Hyderabad based SmartBike, the largest Public Bike Sharing (PBS) company in India, which implements and operates the Chandigarh Public Bike Sharing System, was awarded the prestigious First Prize under Mobility Category, by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, at the Smart Cities Conclave and Expo at Indore. The Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented the award at the ceremony. Among the 100 odd Smart Cities in India with public bike sharing, Chandigarh Public Bike Sharing System, cornered the coveted recognition. The India Smart Cities Award Contest (ISAC) is organized annually by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, to recognize and reward exemplary work done under the Smart Cities Mission to enhance quality of life to the citizens.
SmartBike won the exclusive mandate in 2020 for setting up and operating Public Bike Sharing in Chandigarh with a total of 5000 SmartBikes in 617 bike stations in 4 Phases. SmartBike successfully implemented the project, wherein half of the fleet consists of Electric SmartBikes introduced voluntarily by SmartBike. This PBS system being operated by SmartBike is appreciated by one and all and showcased for its effectiveness and usefulness.
Last year SmartBike was amongst the top dozen Startups from out of thousands of Startups chosen by Startup India to interact with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Modi ji and share Policy recommendations on their respective domains. Policy recommendations made by SmartBike Managing Director, Dharmin Dontamsetti was accepted by Hon’ble Prime Minister and are being implemented.
SmartBike will be launching its full-fledged operations in Hyderabad soon. SmartBike won the Tender by Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited for Setting up, Operating and Managing of Bicycle Sharing on the unique Cycling Track adjoining the ORR from Nanakramguda to TSPA and Narsingi to Kollur. SmartBike will be deploying its state-of-the-art Electric Smartbikes along with its regular Smartbikes for the usage of Hyderabad Citizens. Smartbike unique Pubic Bike Sharing System will be befitting the unique Cycling Track at the ORR.
SmartBike is a Hyderabad based start-up promoted by Dharmin Dontamsetti and his father D V Manohar. Mr Manohar is the First Vice President of World Cycling Alliance based at Brussels and Chairman of Hyderabad Bicycling Club, world’s largest cycling club online. He is also the Past Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Unified AP.
