Greater Bhiwadi, also known as the Bhiwadi-Tapookara-Khushkhera Complex, is a priority town in the National Capital Region’s Regional Plan 2021 and is situated in the northeastern Alwar district, near the eastern border of Rajasthan. Greater Bhiwadi is the designation given to the Bhiwadi-Tapookara-Khushkhera Complex for planning and administrative purposes. The facility is ideally positioned around 5 km from NH8, which connects Bhiwadi with Delhi and Jaipur.

Over an area of nearly 250 square kilometers, 99 revenue villages make up Greater Bhiwadi. Central industrial nodes in the Complex include Bhiwadi, Tapookara, Chaupanki, Kahrani, and Khushkhera. The population of Bhiwadi, a little rural community, was only 1624 when the census was taken there in 1971. Due to its proximity to Delhi and other geographic advantages, the Rajasthan government decided to develop Bhiwadi as an industrial center. Since then, Bhiwadi has successfully established itself on the nation’s industrial map.

Government Initiatives

Bhiwadi is to be developed as a significant regional center, according to the NCR Regional Plan 2021. The Greater Bhiwadi Complex, which covers an area of around 250 square kilometers, consists of 99 revenue villages. The complex’s key industrial nodes, Bhiwadi, Tapookara, Khushkhera, and Chaupanki, are comparatively developed. The only town to have received notification as a census town in 1991 and to have been awarded Class III recognition in 2001 was Bhiwadi.

The State Government decided to extend the urban area limit to include notified 99 revenue villages and prepare Master Plan for the horizon year 2022, coincident with NCR Regional Plan, in light of the upcoming terminal year of the existing Master Plan and the geographical growth of Bhiwadi beyond urbanize limit, RIICO led the fast expansion of the industrial base, and Greater Bhiwadi Complex was identified as a Regional Centre in the Regional Plan of NCR.
