As the world gears up to celebrate World Dance Day on April 29th, we spoke to some of your favorite stars about what dance truly means to them. From childhood memories to stress-busting moves, dance holds a special place in their hearts. Here’s what they had to say:

Anupama Solanki:

Dance is like magic for me. It helps me express my feelings when words are not enough. It makes me feel alive and free. Whenever I dance, my mood instantly becomes better. I feel pure happiness and joy. Dance feels like a big warm hug for my heart. I love Madhuri Dixit She dances with so much grace and beauty. Every move she makes tells a story and touches your heart and because of her I really admire Kathak. It looks so elegant and powerful at the same time. I am even learning the dance form.

Simaran Kaur:

Dance is pure joy for me. It’s a beautiful form of self-expression where I can completely be myself, without any filters. It connects me to my inner child and makes me feel alive. No matter how tired or stressed I am, the moment I start moving to music, I feel lighter and happier. I associate dance with freedom and pure happiness.We make a lot of dance reels on the sets of Jamai No. 1, and I love dancing to the beats of Bollywood songs. I really love dancing, and I absolutely admire the dance moves of Nora Fatehi.

Muskaan Agarwal :

I love dance because it’s fun, and I feel that dance energizes me. I can dance without music as well. For me, it’s all about expressing emotion. Dance elevates my mood. I dance like crazy, and I love Bollywood music and party songs. My friends are my dance partners. My favorite dancers are Kareena Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Nora Fatehi. I want to learn belly dancing. “Dum Maro Dum” is my favorite song.

Shivangi Verma:

Dance is my happy space. It helps me express myself when words fall short. It connects me to my inner self and brings pure joy. Even on the worst days, a little dance lifts my spirits and changes my energy instantly.I love Madhuri Dixit! She dances with so much grace and expression. Every move tells a story..she’s timeless.and I really admire Bollywood form of dance . I admire its elegance, footwork, and energy.

Moon Banerrjee:

Dance elevates my mood —it helps release endorphins, reduces stress, and helps me feel more alive and connected to self.I don’t like a particular form, i enjoy zumba as much as a classic peice as a kid like all Bengalis do even I was enrolled in kathak but I couldn’t pursue it for long. It’s difficult to name one particular song but I love most of the Madhuri Dixit moves and in today’s time I would say I love watching deepika padukone moves especially in the Bhanshali movies
