Athletes from Aditya Mehta Foundation wins big at World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cup, New Delhi – 2024!

Hyderabad, 12th March 2024: The Para athletes trained at the esteemed ADITYA MEHTA FOUNDATION, had outstanding success at the New Delhi 2024 WSPS World Cup. Pavani Banoth, hailing from Telangana, secured a remarkable Bronze medal, showcasing an exemplary performance for her age group.

The entire team at ADITYA MEHTA FOUNDATION, in collaboration with NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI’s Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ranga Reddy, along with Coaches Shri Vijay Singham and Coach Shri. Vinay Pampari, have once again demonstrated that relentless hard work and dedication always yield triumphs.

Amongst the participants, 16-year-old 11th-grade student Pavani and 15-year-old Khushbu from Aditya Mehta Foundation stood out as the youngest competitors within the contingent of 46 talented individuals from 13 countries. Their exceptional skills were evident right from the talent identification camp organized by ADITYA MEHTA FOUNDATION, and now, their prowess shines brightly at the World Cup stage. Pavani’s medal comes as a result of her relentless dedication during 9 months of rigorous training.

The achievements of Telangana’s para shooters have undoubtedly made India proud. Pavani, under the guidance of Coach Shri. Vijay Mohan Singham and Coach Vinay Kumar Pampari of Aditya Mehta Foundation, clinched the Bronze medal alongside team Partner Satya Janardhana Rayala, also from Telangana, coached by Shri V. Sandeep from HCU. Both participated in the R11 event for the R4 category. R4 is an individual category and R11 is a mixed team event where one male and one female play, showcasing their exceptional talent on the global stage.

These para-athletes have been nurtured and developed from grassroots level by their respective coaches. Pavani Banoth was trained by Sr. Coach Shri. Vijay Mohan Singham and Coach Shri Vinay Kumar Pampari. These two coaches and the para shooter Pavani are from AMF.

Description of the match and scores is as follows:

Out of 46 nations who participated in the world cup. The top four teams shortlisted, which entered the finals are India, USA, Brazil and New Zealand.

Bronze medal match was between India and New Zealand, and it was very tough fight at last India won with 17 points and New Zealand was on 4th with 15 points and Gold was won by Brazil and Silver won by USA.

R11 is mixed team 10 M Air Rifle standing SH2 category, where team India won. R4 is a mixed individual 10 M air rifle standing SH2 category. SH2(upper body disability) and it’s a first medal for India to win a medal in this category.
