Through her long and difficult rehabilitation, Komal took comfort in the small pleasures of life, one of which was the sharing of food. She saw how the snack, being a staple in Indian culture, was capable of unifying family and friends together, creating happy moments and bondings. From this, something clicked in her mind: creating a brand that would embody all these things. That way, Omkar Snacks was born, promising to provide best quality snacks which not only engage the taste buds but also the nostalgia and union.

Navigating the Challenges

Creating a new brand in the very competitive food sector is no easy task. For Komal, the hurdles were double: coping with her health while creating a business from scratch. The physical limitations placed on her by her condition meant that she had to depend significantly on a supportive team and creative solutions to manage operations. Komal was determined to provide snacks that not only tasted great but were healthier than normal alternatives offered in the market. This strong belief resulted in products that consume 50% less oil, allowing for guilt-free snacking without any compromise on taste. By working with local suppliers who had a similar vision, she made sure that all ingredients utilized were fresh, genuine, and up to the brand’s quality standards. Another huge task was developing a diverse portfolio of products suitable for different palates without losing the essence of traditional flavors. The BFC Collection, which includes Bhel, Farsan, and Chivda, was selected to provide consumers with a bite of timeless Indian snacks in the modern era. All the products are designed to create a nostalgic effect, transporting users to nostalgic moments of snacking in groups during festivals and family gatherings.

Vision for the Future

 Komal has a vision of Omkar Snacks not just as a snack company, but as a vehicle to reestablish the spirit of community and togetherness. At a time when virtual interactions tend to dominate real-time connections, she feels that food can act as a connector, uniting people in positive ways.
