AIGF Applauds Meta’s Revised Advertising Policy Supporting Regulated Real Money Gaming in India

India, May 30, 2025: The All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) has commended Meta’s recent revision to its advertising policy, which now allows Real Money Gaming (RMG) operators in India to advertise on its platforms—provided they adhere to strict regulatory and compliance norms. As per Meta’s updated guidelines announced Thursday, advertisers promoting RMG content must obtain written permission from Meta and ensure their ads are not targeted at individuals under 18 years of age.

This development represents a pivotal move toward a more structured and responsible advertising environment for India’s online gaming sector. It also aligns with ongoing industry calls for greater transparency and accountability in digital advertising practices.

Roland Landers, CEO of AIGF, welcomed the policy update, stating:
“We appreciate Meta’s significant policy shift, which brings much-needed clarity and compliance to RMG advertising. The revised framework aligns with India’s regulatory ecosystem and ensures that only authorized and responsible operators can leverage Meta’s ad platforms—safeguarding consumers, especially minors, from unregulated content.”

He further added:
“As the oldest and largest industry body for online skill gaming in India, AIGF has always advocated for responsible self-regulation and legal validation. Over the past decade, our voluntary skill game certification program has become the most comprehensive in the country. We are encouraged that Meta now acknowledges AIGF-issued certifications as valid evidence of legal and skill-based classification of games.”

According to Mr. Landers, this move is a result of persistent dialogue between the industry and digital platforms, and marks a significant step toward more responsible and sustainable growth of India’s regulated online gaming sector in the digital advertising ecosystem.
