Singapore, August 4, 2026: Cricket history is set to come alive in Singapore as the Mariners Cricket Club (MCC) Singapore hosts the ’83 Legends Tour of Singapore from August 7 to 9, 2026, marking the first-ever reunion of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team in Asia outside India since their iconic triumph.

The three-day event will reunite some of Indian cricket’s greatest legends, including Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, and Mohinder Amarnath, offering fans, business leaders, and sports enthusiasts a unique opportunity to interact with the heroes who changed the course of Indian cricket forever.

Organized by Mariners Cricket Club Singapore, the landmark event aims to combine cricket nostalgia with leadership, innovation, and corporate networking while promoting the growth of cricket across South-East Asia.

Grand Gala Dinner to Kick Off Celebrations

The tour begins on Friday, August 7, with an exclusive Grand Gala Dinner expected to host more than 600 distinguished guests, including corporate executives, sports promoters, maritime leaders, and cricket fans.

The evening will feature an engaging live conversation with the legendary cricketers, hosted by a renowned sports presenter, where the World Cup heroes will share unforgettable memories, leadership lessons, and insights from India’s historic 1983 World Cup victory.

Leadership Workshops Inspired by Cricket

Adding a corporate dimension to the celebrations, the event will host interactive leadership and techno-commercial workshops on August 7 and 8. These 90-minute sessions are designed to translate cricket’s principles of teamwork, resilience, strategy, and decision-making into practical business leadership lessons for executives and professionals.

Legends vs Mariners Match to Headline the Event

The sporting highlight will be the much-awaited Legends vs Mariners Exhibition Match on Saturday, August 8, integrated with the annual Mariners Premier League (MPL), featuring 61 teams across corporate, open, women’s, and junior categories.

In a unique initiative, the exhibition match will be live-streamed to more than 2,000 commercial ships worldwide, showcasing Singapore’s position as a global maritime hub while bringing cricket entertainment to thousands of seafarers across the globe.
