Mumbai’s Shanmukhananda Auditorium came alive with words, wit, and emotion as Dr. Kumar Vishwas headlined a spectacular Kavi Sammelan to a packed audience, tickets for which had been completely sold out two weeks before the event. Joined by renowned poets Sudeep Bhola, Sakshi Tiwari, Vinod Pandey, and Kushal Kushendra, the evening was a poetic celebration that blended humor, heartfelt storytelling, and cultural pride. From soulful verses to sharp satire, the audience spanning youngsters to senior citizens, responded with laughter, applause, and moments of reflection, ending the night with a standing ovation from nearly 3,000 attendees.
A highlight of the evening was Dr. Vishwas’s moving recitation of poems that touched on devotion and the enduring values of Indian culture, including verses that paid tribute to Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. Known for his deep understanding of Indian traditions, Dr. Vishwas is also contributing lyrics to an upcoming cinematic adaptation of the Ramayana, working alongside global music icons A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The Mumbai show effortlessly wove spirituality with contemporary relevance, leaving the audience deeply touched by its emotional depth and timeless themes.
