New Delhi, September 2025 – Born in 1992 in Munirka, New Delhi, Adnaan Khan has emerged as a trailblazer in India’s canine training landscape. From humble beginnings in a joint family to founding K9 School, the country’s fastest-growing dog training academy, Khan’s journey is a testament to vision, grit, and purpose.
Early Life: A Quiet Observer Turned Passionate Advocate
Raised by hardworking parents—his father in the airline industry and his mother managing the household—Adnaan was a quiet, introverted child. Drawn to stray dogs in his neighborhood, he began volunteering at shelters in his teens, walking dogs and studying canine behavior.
“I always knew I wanted to create something of my own. Business felt like the only sustainable way to merge creativity, impact, and livelihood,” Khan recalls.
After earning a business degree from the University of East Anglia, UK, he returned to India and, after self-training his first dog, realized that dog training was more than a passion—it was a calling.
Career Beginnings and the Birth of K9 School
Khan briefly worked in luxury real estate before joining Dogspot, India’s first pet e-commerce startup. While building digital products and community engagement, he began consulting as a dog trainer on weekends. The demand quickly outgrew his job, prompting him to pursue full-time training.
In 2016, he founded K9 School, introducing the proprietary CRP® (Correct–Redirect–Praise) system, a humane and structured approach to dog training. Today, K9 School has trained over 20,000 families and 1,500+ students worldwide, offering dignified careers for dog enthusiasts across India.
Expanding Impact: Therapy Dogs and Social Initiatives
Beyond training, Khan has extended his expertise to K9 Healers, developing therapy dog programs that empower underprivileged youth, people with special needs, and the LGBTQ community. His consultancy has reached Police Dog Centre Holland, German Special Forces, and even the Lok Sabha, making him the first civilian to advise on security dog systems.
Khan has also documented his methodology in a forthcoming book, highlighting how his system has created successful trainer careers and improved operations across clinics, grooming centers, shelters, and military kennels.
Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, Adnaan envisions K9 School as India’s global digital voice in dog training, leveraging AI, edtech, and licensing to scale his impact.
“Dogs are not just companions,” he says. “They are healers, protectors, and teachers. My mission is to transform how India lives with its 35+ million dogs.”
Adnaan Khan continues to lead as the Founder & CEO of K9 School, revolutionizing dog training and creating meaningful opportunities for pet owners, trainers, and communities across India.
