Urvashi Rautela’s Team Breaks Silence on Badrinath Temple Controversy, Issues Official Clarification

Urvashi Rautela, India’s youngest superstar and one of the most influential global icons, has once again found herself in the spotlight—but this time, for reasons beyond the screen. With a staggering following of over 160 million across platforms, Urvashi is not only the highest-paid actress in the country but also the youngest Indian to feature on the Instagram Forbes Rich List.

Amidst her ongoing professional success, the actress recently became the subject of controversy regarding claims of a temple being dedicated to her in Badrinath. The buzz started following her appearance on a podcast, where she mentioned an “Urvashi temple” in Uttarakhand. However, her statement appears to have been taken out of context, leading to widespread misinterpretation and unwarranted criticism.

In response to the circulating misinformation, Urvashi Rautela’s team has now issued an official clarification to set the record straight:

“Urvashi Rautela said that there is a temple in her name in Uttarakhand—not a temple dedicated to Urvashi Rautela herself. The statement was misheard or misrepresented by many, who assumed it meant people worship her. In the podcast, she also mentioned being referred to as ‘Damdami Mai’ during her time at Delhi University, and there’s a legitimate news article supporting this.

We urge everyone to listen to the full video before jumping to conclusions. Legal action should be considered against those spreading misleading interpretations. It’s crucial that facts are verified before making baseless or derogatory statements about any individual. Respect, understanding, and responsibility should guide public discourse.”

On the work front, Urvashi continues to soar. After the resounding success of Daaku Maharaj and Jaat, she is all set to appear in some of the most anticipated projects including Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan and Shankar, Kasoor with Aftab Shivdasani and Jassie Gill, and the star-studded Welcome 3 with Akshay Kumar. She also features in the high-octane film Baap alongside Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt, Inspector Avinash 2 with Randeep Hooda, Black Rose, and will portray Parveen Babi in an upcoming biopic. Fans can also look forward to her international music collaboration with Jason Derulo.

With clarity restored and her professional slate brimming with excitement, Urvashi Rautela remains focused on what she does best—delivering powerful performances and inspiring millions. Stay tuned for more updates on this unstoppable force.
