Kaashvi Hiranandani: Female Battlefield Mobile India (BGMI) streamers

Kaashvi Hiranandani, also known as Kaash Play, is one of the most popular female streamers for Battle Grounds Mobile India with a YouTube subscriber community of 450K+. She has gained massive popularity due to her stellar performances in several BGMI eSports tournaments.

What made you start game streaming?

I’ve been playing console and mobile games for as long as I can remember. Before the pandemic, I lived in Singapore and had come to India for a short break when I found myself hooked on Call of Duty Mobile.

A prominent player called me a hacker on stream, so I put up one video to show my point of view. People began requesting that I should stream in the comment section of that video, which hit over lac views. So I started streaming the game on a makeshift setup using my laptop.

Why do you like to play mobile/online games?

I have more virtual friends that I have made via gaming than ‘IRL’ friends, and I owe this to the mobile games that I play. I love online games because it’s the easiest way to enjoy and make new friends and connect with old ones.

How has your journey been so far?

My journey has been fabulous! I owe this to the right support I received early on. Fortunately, I have had more ups than downs in this space. I have recently been able to make gaming and streaming a full-time career which makes my family immensely proud.

What do you think is the future of game vlogging and streaming?

Kaashvi Hiranandani Said Both vlogging and streaming have a fast-growing audience. There is a massive jump in overall numbers year on year, and I feel that this growth will continue as vlogging and streaming are extremely engaging and relatable for the audience.

The gaming industry is seeing a lot of women gamers; how do you feel to be a part of this change?

I feel proud. I constantly motivate fellow female gamers to start streaming and creating content. I hope that there are equal females compared to males in the industry someday soon!

What’s the biggest myth associated with women gaming creators?

That there are extremely few. As per my YouTube statistics and the number of women I meet in-game, there are way more female gamers and viewers than one perceives.

How much time do you invest in gaming?

Ever since I started doing this full-time, I would say about 9-12 hours a day. I stream on YouTube for 3 hours every morning, then Loco for another 3. I play games recreationally after that for a few hours, followed by tournaments and brand shoots,
if any.

Which games do you like to play?

BGMI, Call of Duty, Minecraft, GTA

How has the audience reacted to your streams?

I would like to believe that their reaction has been good! My streams are usually light-hearted, fun-filled streams where I’m not trying too hard with the game but just enjoying myself and entertaining the audience.

How do you monetize from this, and what is your next plan?

I monetize through streaming revenues – advertisements, donations, and brand deals. My next plan is to launch and grow my lifestyle and vlogging channel that will focus more on my life, challenges, and real-life content that my audience is extremely eager to see.
